Watch The Mighty Fall

Those who rise to positions of power, respect and prestige are faced with many temptations. Some succumb to those temptations after achieving their high positions. Others achieved their positions while hiding behind a veneer of respectability, while secretly having already succumbed to immoral or illegal behavior.

In my six decades of life, I have seen many people in high positions fall. Some fell from grace after their deaths, as the truth of their misdeeds, or their moral failings has come to light. Some fell from grace while still in the middle of their power, or position, or fame. Richard Nixon, Spiro Agnew, J. Edgar Hoover, Dennis Hastert, Gary Hart, Harvey Weinstein, Andrew McCabe, Jimmy Swaggart, Elliott Spitzer and Kevin Spacey are just a few of those who fell from grace.

We are none of us perfect, but most of us strive to be moral, caring individuals. Few of us would stand on a soapbox and proclaim our high moral standards, while seeking power and control. No, we just try to do what is right; what is moral.

Another has fallen from a high position. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D-NY) recently resigned after being accused of sexual misconduct and physical abuse. It would be ironic if these allegations were proven to be true, as Schneiderman portrayed himself as a strong supporter of “feminism”. Or would it?

I have always been suspicious of those who claim to be morally, intellectually or ethically superior to others. Why do they need to make such claims? Who are they trying to convince; themselves or others? I always felt they were taking onto themselves the mantle of virtues they lacked themselves. Maybe I’m wrong, but my suspicions have often been justified. I never trusted Richard Nixon, for instance.

Actions speak louder than words. It is an old axiom, but a wise one.

Morally bankrupt individuals, who seek power for power’s sake, can never be trusted. It is obvious they will do anything to gain, or retain, power. George H. W. Bush, his son, Dubya, and Bill and Hillary Clinton come to mind in this respect. They somehow believed they had a right to be President; as if it were some preordained summons from on high. They sought power for power’s sake.

Lord Acton once said, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men,…”. It is best to heed his words. No man, or woman, is perfect, but those who are most corruptible, in my opinion, are those who seek power. Psychopaths and sociopaths seek power. Those who seek power, and control, over others are not to be trusted, as they always have a secret, dark agenda.

Beware of the power seekers, and watch closely those who hold the reins of power. Beware of those who claim superiority.

            You want just one example?

How about war without THE REQUIRED declaration of war by the Congress. Any time we attack a foreign nation with military weapons that is UNLAWFUL. Worse, it mkes those who are just following orders and just doing their jobs commit crimes against the US Constitution, that document that they are sworn to “Support and Defend” ABOVE and BEFORE any person, above and BEFORE any order from superiors of any rank or office, before the duties of the position being occupied (that required support and defend the US Constitution is the VERY first duty of every Oath taker). That is a very corrupt power, though, those that are the highest rank of EVERY branch of the (US) but given to the UN by Panetta and Dempsey TRAITORS, military is even MORE corrupt and treasonous. Think not, re-read the US Constitution – in particular Article 1, Section 8, then go to Article 2, Section 2 “… Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, WHEN CALLED INTO THE ACTUAL SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES,” Who can call them forth? ONLY the Congress can declare war and call them forth. They are required to know that Constitution per the Oath, and to hit that rank they now hold they had to take that Oath multiple times.

Doing this he went against “PRESERVING, PROTECTING, and DEFENDING the US Constitution as required by the Presidential Oath of Office, and against the listed duties of a US President.

Is that enough? There are a couple of other times when President Trump went against the US Constitution, his Oath of Office, but, admittedly, he has done waaaaay better then any other US President in a lot of decades. But his contract is in writing, and there are penalties for all Oath breakers, but “WE … ” hold none of the scum that serves (and “scum” is too good a description for them).

        • WGP 8 May, 2018, 14:23

There is no chance there will be any Trump fall from power. Also, Trump has actually presented congress framework for RESTORING the separation of powers:
          1. Congress should cease delegating its legislative power to the executive branch as they had during the previous impostor in the rainbow house regime.
          2. Courts should stop rubber-stamping regulations and orders that lack force of law.
          3. Executive will end informal “guidance documents” that undermine due process.

Although these Power People are now being “exposed” you have to ask, “Why Now”? Is it more than just a trend? And let’s say 8 out of 10 are Abuse, why wait until now? The courts have been fairly fair about their decisions in recent years. I guess that in my “old age” I’m confused….

There’s a lot of talk today about the abuses of “government.” We talk about government as if it’s an alien life form, when in truth it is simply we the people. If I aspired for public office, and won the election, I would be the government. If you aspired for public office, and won the election, YOU would be the government. So if “government” is abusive, adulterous, self-serving, egocentric, corrupt, and hostile to liberty, it is because we the people have become abusive, adulterous, self-serving, egocentric, corrupt, and hostile to liberty. Government is not political parties, government is us.

Why are American leaders so degenerate? Because we the people have become degenerate. Pretty simple how that works. As a culture, we no longer yield ourselves to the authority of God. We still call ourselves one nation under God, but in no way do we act like it. We sing God Bless America on Independence Day and live for hell the rest of the year.

A man can only be IN authority once he has learned to be UNDER authority, and if his will is never broken, he will abuse whatever power is placed in his hands. Regardless of his political affiliation. Egocentric men (and women) cannot serve others, they must make others serve them. Abusive men (and women) think nothing of those around them, and couldn’t care less about their well-being. Perhaps this is why the Scripture says in Psalms 33:12 “Blessed is the NATION whose God is the Lord.” A nation of men yielded to God will produce leaders who know how (and WHO) to serve.

If America refuses to turn to God, tyranny will only increase. It may come from the Ds, and even the Rs, but it will come nonetheless. When we the people bow our knee, and yield to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, we will begin producing good Statesmen again. Men and women who use their power to serve the people, not just rule the people. Until then, expect the vile, vain, and corrupt to rule, and continue their abuse.

The term ‘we’ does not apply to all Americans. That’s part of the problem, in my perspective. Some folks want to assign blame where it does not belong. If ‘you’ believe you are one of the ‘we’ that is fine, but please do not generalize that all Americans have been involved in the corruption. For decades there have been ‘some folks’ who have been trying to stop the abusive government and help America wake up to the light. Perhaps these folks are now seeing success and the fruits of their labor.

This guy exhibited most of the characteristics of the “Domestic Abuser.” You will find that the Progressive Agenda is based in “Coercive Control.” The term “Coercive Acts (Intolerable Acts)” Should ring a bell for most people, it’s the very same thing. If we are to stop this, then we need to study the Domestic Stalker/Abuser. The victims in both those instances have 2 avenues; Disengage, or fight back.

I met individuals and even served under a few that when on to prominence within the DoD, even to G-3, MulitiBranch “Plans and Ops” that had their hands in the Benghazi fiasco leading to “premature” “retirement”…this is a horrible truth about power…However, I cannot ascertain a solution or way to overthrow this observation from the “bottom”…what then is our recourse? It reminds me of our field AAR’s…I see the issues, how can we overcome them? Armed resistance is absolutely futile…I’m left in state of despotism…

The first glimpse we have of Thomas Paine, is this daunting epitaph for a pet crow, which he had as a child, and buried in the garden of his home on Bridgegate:
“Here lies the body of John Crow, Who once was high but now is low; Ye brother Crows take warning all, For as you rise, so must you fall.”

Very well and truly spoken. Of course, the principle holds at all levels of personal and political organization. Human beings are corrupted by power because it is not what our species is made for and one who desires it is an aberration. Everyone else is confused by it at worst, recoils from it at best.

I myself have long declined to attempt the test…not since that unforgettable day when, at age 4, I decided to try out Power over Another (for power’s sake) did so, and didn’t like how it felt. Well… I had a few slight brushes with that temptation in Scientology which I similarly and quickly declined, for the same reason.

I know of such experiences that other people have had and I believe it only takes once to get a subjective understanding of how crazy it is, if someone is ever going to.
