I have just ‘challenged’ NC Sheriff Association VP/Counselor Eddie Caldwell to survey how many NC sheriffs and deputies are Oathkeepers. As usual, he is balking and does not want to acknowledge Oathkeepers. My own county sheriff and local police chief don’t want to encounter these questions EITHER!

I suggest that EVERYONE everywhere start questioning your local LEOs about being honorable enough to be an OATHKEEPER !!! Make them stammer and stutter!! Put it in their faces and DEMAND
answers! We need to KNOW who our friends and potential enemies ARE.

What we need to do is make sure our Sheriff’s are “Constitutional” Sheriffs’. Too many of them don’t realize that are “MORE” powerful than the FEDS. They tend to be intimidated by the Corrupt DC crowd. We need to get OK’s revitalized here in Eastern NC. Many, Many, Vets here who are tired of the Bull Shit in DC……………

I’m preparing a self sufficient out of the mainstream lime light large homestead. I’ve learned quite a lot from the Amish. Underground refrigeration and storage. Underground smoked storage units. Also a self sufficient hand pump well. Wood inner cook stoves that provide cooking and heating for winter months. Fire pits putter for cooking out side. Natural camouflage of the entire grounds with natural resources as security measures also. I’ve just come to know of this groups existing. I’m happy to be a part of it.

She is living in a tent because the city sewer system flooded her house out with crap and destroyed her home. Now she does not want to go onto the sewer system again and wants to use a septic tank. They are telling her she is not free to live in a tent on her own land.

I cannot speak for the status of State or National. It is frustrating that either are communicating to those of us TRYING to put a best face forward…but nevertheless, as a good soldier always does, we will persevere, adapt, and overcome!!! In all honesty, we are Oath Keepers in our hearts and became one the moment we took the Oath and stood on the yellow painted foot steps at RTC. We should not need National or State leadership to know what to do when the chips are down…this is when we work our best!!!

I can understand why Rick has left. I was an original member here in eastern NC. It seem OK’s are more active and united west of the coast, and in other states. This is a surprise to me because of all the retired military here in enc. Rick is a major loss to all of us. I hoping for a resurgence of OK’s here in ENC.

Since Oath Keepers is an all-volunteer organization, everyone has an individual motive for joining and one for leaving. I know why RJ left and do not blame him either. My words could go either way but I am trying to remain the soldier in this case and stick to the mission at hand by leading my team locally and not worrying about the bigger picture that I have zero control over. My unit is the largest in NC now and it is during these times that we have a choice to shine for the 3% movement. This little hiccup is nothing compared to fight ahead….so our effort and attention must remain on what’s most important. I talked to RJ last night and he is making the right choices for his family!!! I respect his service to NC while we had him but it’s time to forge ahead and leave yesterday where it lies…

I agree with Rick’s comment, but he didn’t go far enough, we the people are also complicit in what is happening in this country. We have sat back and enjoyed our freedom and kept our mouths shut, assuming ti would never end. Even now we are still sitting back while Obama and the liberal socialists “fundamentally transform” our country into a socialist state. We are going to learn to late!

      “Acting State Coordinator”?

Then why aren’t you listed as such up above? NC hasn’t had a leadership presence for quite some time. It shows up above and the 50 or so that attended the NC State Summit. If Oath Keepers National wanted NC to succeed, they would put a little more effort into the leadership of the state instead of its “acting state coordinator” revealing himself in the comments section like 2 others have done before him.

There is a reason why states have officially left the OK organization…and there is a reason why NC has struggled for years to get a foothold worth of credibility in the state.

“Gunny” may be the “acting state coordinator” but the national website indicates otherwise and when RJohnson did the same in older comments, it sounds like National is selling the state short.

We accept folks who are not prior service as associate members. But really, we treat everyone the same, and once you join, we will put you to work right along with everyone else. Count on it. In addition, we do encourage you to join your local first responder volunteer community (volunteer fire, search and rescue, CERT team, EMT team, etc.) and if you do that, you are considered a full member right along with the police and military veterans. What counts is the commitment to the community along with the Constitution. We are all in this together, and many hands make light work.
