How to Make Pemmican, Nature’s Most Perfect Food

Pemmican comes to us from Native Americans. It is a mixture of dried meat (jerky) and tallow (rendered fat) from the same animal as the meat. Often dried berries or nuts were added to it in the process. Small amounts of pemmican give high calories, along with many nutrients. making it a perfect survival food. It is easy to store and lasts for at least a year, and has been shown to last much longer, if prepared correctly.
