Warning to U.S. Military and Federal LEOs: Do Not Follow Orders to “Waco” Ammon Bundy Occupation, or Risk Civil War

This is addressed first and foremost to the entire U.S. military, but especially to the military Special Operations Command and community.    Secondly, it is addressed to federal LEOs, and especially to their SRTs, such as the FBI HRT (many of whom are former military special operations).  This comes from combat arms and special operations veterans, along with veteran Sheriffs and police officers, within the Oath Keepers organization:

Critical Warning:

The Ammon Bundy led occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon must be handled as a normal, non-crisis, law enforcement matter, and preferably by Oregon Sheriffs (who are organized as the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association), and their deputies, together with the local community there in Harney County, OR.   The locals can resolve this, if given enough time.   The Oregon Sheriffs can resolve this, if given enough time.

This situation must not be handled in a military or paramilitary fashion, using military assets, military rules of engagement, or otherwise attempting to end it suddenly by use of dynamic assault, resulting in catastrophic loss of life, as has occurred twice in recent American history, with horrific results (at Ruby Ridge in 1992, and at Waco Texas in 1993).  If you do it “Waco” style here, you risk pushing this nation over the edge into a civil war, because there are “no more free Wacos.

This is not an emergency situation, unless you turn it into one.  Ammon Bundy’s occupation of an empty building is essentially the same as civil-disobedience sit-ins that the political left has engaged in for decades, from anti-war and civil rights protesters in the 60s and 70s (including a nineteen month occupation of Alcatraz by American Indian activists), to Occupy Wall Street Movement and Black Lives Matter activists today.

These ranchers, cowboys, and veterans just happen to be armed, as westerners tend to be.   Get over it.  There are no hostages, there are no close-by neighbors at risk, there is nobody there except those who want to be.

So tread lightly, and at most handle this like the Montana Freeman standoff, where the FBI was patient and waited them out, with a peaceful surrender coming after eighty one days.   In this situation, the locals will likely have this resolved long before that length of time.  Regardless, there is no rush.

Despite that reality of there being no emergency here, we have very good reason to believe that ideologue leftist bureaucrats within the Obama Administration – such as within the D.O.J., and their politically minded “perfumed prince” puppets within the D.O.D. – are pressuring you to prepare to use military assets and military rules of engagement to conduct a dynamic raid.   We are an organization of current serving and retired military, police, fire-fighters and other first responders, and we have contacts at every major military installation in America (including Joint Base Lewis-McChord), and at the Pentagon.   We hear things.  We’ll just leave it at that.

And we know that the Obama Administration considered the use of military force during the Bundy Ranch standoff in April, 2014, pursuant to Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities.”  Fortunately for all Americans, they decided not to do it.  This fact was confirmed by a May 28, 2014 Washington Times article:

A U.S. official said the Obama administration considered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his armed supporters.

So, the military force hammer was, in fact, on the table during Bundy Ranch, as we suspected.  Please don’t try to tell us it’s not on the table again, now.   We know it is.  The only question is whether the Obama Admin leftist weenies will be foolish enough to try to actually use it, and if they do, whether you will be foolish enough to obey their idiotic orders and obediently act as that hammer.

In addition, it is clear you federal LEOs have not handled this in the normal law enforcement manner of cordoning off the area and immediately initiating negotiations.  Why is that?  Why has there yet to be even an attempt to open direct lines of communications between you and Ammon Bundy, as members of Pacific Patriot Network, Idaho III%, and Oath Keepers on the ground in Burns, OR have been repeatedly urging you to do for the past week, to no avail?

Don’t do it.  Do not follow unlawful orders if the Obama Administration fools decide to go “full retard.”  No matter how eager the politicians like Harry Reid are for Ammon Bundy’s head, after the black eye Ammon and his family gave them at Bundy Ranch in 2014, and no matter how much they pressure you to “make an example” out of these guys, you cannot drop the hammer on a bunch of ranchers, cowboys, and veterans sitting in an empty building without it blowing up in all of our faces.  Treat this with kid gloves, like the Montana Freeman standoff, instead of like the Waco standoff, or risk setting off a civil war.

The stuffed-shirt, pencil necked metrosexuals inside the D.C. beltway will not be the ones bleeding and dying in the chaos that could follow (at least not at first).

Guys like this, in D.C., won’t be the ones who will bleed (not at first).

It will be you current serving military and LEO, and it will be us patriotic veterans, along with our many active duty brothers who still take their oaths seriously (and we are truly everywhere, including within your immediate ranks) who will bleed.  It will be the warrior class of America killing each other while the political hacks laugh (they hate you too, don’t you know).

As SGM Joseph Santoro (Ret), Oath Keepers BOD member, and our National Operations NCO put it, while on the ground in Harney County, OR:

I served 25 years in the U.S. Army infantry and EOD, and retired  a Sgt. Maj.    I also served five years as a Contractor at the 10th Special Forces Group and three years as a Contractor at the U.S. Army EOD School.  I know the military, and I know they are watching this closely, just like they watched Bundy Ranch, and this [pointing to the land] is where most of your trigger pullers come from.  Most are country boys who have seen first hand the abuses of their families by the BLM, the EPA, activist judges, etc.  They are not stupid.  They have seen logging, ranching, mining, and farming assaulted and shut down in little towns all around this land.  

And if you Feds get froggy here and smoke a bunch of ranchers and veterans who are justifiably pissed off at what is being done all over the West, you will have active duty warriors climbing up your backsides with extreme prejudice.  And us veterans climbing down your throat.  That’s not a threat.  Just a fact.

So tread lightly, and don’t tread on us.

Oath Keepers members are on the ground in Burns, OR as part of the Pacific Patriot Network lead “buffer” operation to try to prevent another Waco type incident, to encourage open dialogue and peaceful resolution, and in support of the release of Dwight and Steven Hammond from prison, pressuring Obama to use his power of clemency to commute their sentences and then pardon them.  While all the groups in this coalition disagreed with what Ammon did, we all agree with the broader cause of respect for the rights of the people in the West, and we agree that there are no more free Wacos.

The Right Way and the Wrong Way

The Federal government has a spotty record when handling things like this.   It handled the American Indian  occupation of Alcatraz well, letting it go on for nineteen months, during which support for it dwindled.   It handled the Montana Freeman Standoff well, letting that go on for eighty-one days, till they surrendered.  But it screwed up big time at Ruby Ridge and Waco, with dead women and children as the result.

During the Ruby Ridge incident, a fourteen year old boy, Samuel Weaver, was shot in the back and killed by U.S. Marshalls, and his unarmed mother, Vickie Weaver, was later shot in the face and killed while holding her baby.   Vickie Weaver was shot by the notorious FBI HRT sniper, Lon Tomohisa Horiuchi (a West Point Graduate and former Army officer), under “shoot on sight” military rules of engagement orders issued to the FBI HRT that were later ruled to have been illegal.

At the Waco Texas Branch Davidian standoff, military training facilities were used to prepare the BATF to conduct it’s  unnecessary dynamic assault on the Davidian communal family church/home which they knew was full of women and children, to serve a simple search warrant.   The BATF also requested training by U.S. Army Special Forces (who were resistant to providing such training).   The local sheriff had conducted searches in the past without incident, and could easily have done so again, and the BATF could have easily detained David Koresh during one of his routine jogging sessions and then conducted the search, but instead the BATF insisted on a needless massive paramilitary assault, with agents in full battle-rattle pouring from cattle cars and immediately shooting all the Branch Davidian dogs, including puppies, within the first seconds of the raid.   That is an idiotic way to begin the service of a search warrant, to say the least.  The result was a massive fire-fight with dead on both sides, as the BATF sprayed thousands of rounds into a building with children inside.

The FBI then carried out a siege of the compound, and instead of dialing it back and doing it right, the D.O.J. and FBI doubled down on stupid.  And Delta helped.  Delta Force Commander, then Col. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, actually “advised Attorney General Janet Reno on what kind of gas to use to end the Federal Government’s standoff” with the final assault on April 19, 1993 that ended in a deadly fire that killed scores of women and children.  Delta Force was there.  FBI HRT was there.   And it was hell on earth for those innocents as they died.

After the flames died out, the FBI agents lost no time in raising the ATF flag over the charred bodies of children and then posed, smiling, for group victory photos in front of the burnt ruins.  And you wonder why so many Americans hate you? (and Boykin went on to become Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne), Ft. Bragg, NC).

The result was the galvanization of patriots across America to form up militias, and to swear that there will never again be a “free Waco.”  We agree, and therefore we warn you to do this right, no matter what the Obama Admin overlords try to demand.   Do it right, or risk starting a conflagration so great, it cannot be stopped, leading to a bloody, brutal civil war.  And do it right, because it is your duty to refuse those orders, under your oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.   And that includes the domestic enemies now “occupying” Washington D.C.

Special Forces, it is time to go back to your roots and live up to your motto.  Your countrymen are now the oppressed.  And it is time to remember your soldier’s creed.  Each of you is an American soldier, a “guardian of freedom and the American way of life.”   Your brothers in heaven are watching.  Do the right thing.  Stand down, and refuse to obey evil, ghoulish sociopaths who salivate at the prospect of watching Americans die on camera, like they watched during Benghazi.

Tell them that if they want American patriot blood, they need to strap on a plate carrier, chest rig, and an M-4 and go do it themselves.

          I understand that fully. The target audience was not Obama and his Marxist circle of freaks around him. The audience was as stated. The US military in general, and Spec Ops in particular, and then secondarily to the Fed LEO SRTs. They are the ones who have to put on the brakes and “strongly advise” the political idiots to chill out, back off, and let the normal “cordon and negotiate” thing happen, or even better, just let the locals handle it. Local wheels are in motion. Let them turn.

          There is no legitimate reason for a dynamic raid. We in the patriot movement are NOT sending a flood of hundreds or thousands of armed men there, like we could. And we are not doing that, even to serve as a buffer, precisely because we don’t want to give Obama and his cabal an excuse or justification for having to do a dynamic raid. We don’t want them to be able to say, after the raid is done: “hundreds of armed extremists, from several large groups, were heading toward Burns, OR, as they had headed to Bundy Ranch in 2014, where they aimed rifles at BLM officers, and we had no choice but to end this immediately, or risk having armed attackers coming up behind federal law enforcement officers as they peacefully negotiated with the armed extremists inside the compound. As the President, I had no choice, blah, blah, blah, blah” or some other claptrap.

          So, we are NOT bringing in a bunch of armed men. We have a small presence there, with SGM Santoro working with PPN and Idaho III% to help open lines of communication between the FBI and Ammon and crew. We are there to help it from going full retard. That is our mission, along with trying to bring this back to the Hammonds, and focus on the clear injustice of Dwight and Steven being sent back to prison for a small grass fire, after the trial judge showed leniency and a sense of justice.

          The prosecutor and the US Attorney did NOT have to appeal that decision, but just could not stand to have a relatively light sentence be applied to two men they clearly wanted to punish for daring to stand up and beat the Federal government TWICE in court after being harassed by the feds. This is merely the continuation of that retribution. That is what we should bring the focus back to, and through that, bring out the many stories of other people in the west, some of them right there in that community, who have also been persecuted by the Feds under their claimed authority over the land.

          Bring it back to the Hammonds, and throw it in Obama’s lap, since he can solve this whole thing right now, by using his presidential clemency power. He can commute their sentences, and let them back out of prison, and he can then pardon them and clear their record. But even if he won’t or can’t give them a pardon (federal pardon rules require a person to wait five years after their release before applying for pardon) Obama can certainly commute their sentences right now, and set them free. By doing so, he can solve the core problem that caused everyone to focus on Burns, OR in the first place, and since Ammon Bundy has recently said he and his followers will stay there until Dwight and Steven are released, once that is done, Ammon may well keep that promise and leave.

          And then the patriot movement would have an actual win. And the people of Harney County can still organize and stand up for their rights, as they have begun to do.

          Obama can end it with a pen and a phone call. Hammer on that.

I wont say no wants violence because obviously the FED does, see BLM and race riots that have ensued after BO came to power.. But now we are in WW3 and I am no longer afraid of these guys..             am curious about what your message is to someone like myself Who is concerned about potential damage to my ancestors remains. I grew up in a ranching family in S. Oregon. (Mom moved west to my dads ranch after they were married) so I am familiar with the grazing fees and long period of time that occurs while environmental studies are completed and how that affects small ranches operations. also curious payout ire of how this affects my right as a tax payer who spends time on the refuge to birdwatch and connect with my heritage. Given I work as a RN and am over 40 I have paid a large portion of taxes during my adult life. I look forward to my time out there. Every. summer and fall. It helps to keep my sane I my daily life

            Daisy, have you read the Constitution at all? Article I, Section 8, clause 17 states exactly what purpose the federal government can own land. A wildlife refuge is not listed. This land is being held criminally by the federal government. I find it disturbing that you find such pleasure in benefiting from a criminal act.

            Sir, thank you for your service and helping to try and sensibly diffuse this situation while keeping the message and goal in focus, the overreach of the the feds. That being said, if I was in your shoes, I would refrain from using the word “retard”. Even for a guy like me, who lives in the country, uses a hammer everyday, and probably utters the phrase all too often, it does offend a whole bunch of the types of people who are on the fence about organizations like yours, and why even take the chance that one loaded word could turn away a person who may have actually joined our ranks. Also, a whole bunch of people who are sick of the feds as much as us have r-!@#d kids, for multiple reasons, from shots to video games. Not trying to criticize, just an observation from someone who hangs with the reddest of necks, but still cringes at the lack of creativity when it comes to adjectives to describe the feeble, inept, morally grotesque poor excuses for humans that have infiltrated Washington DC . God bless the folks in Oregon.

          Oath Keepers is not “siding” with anyone. We are there in conjunction with PPN and III% groups to serve as a buffer between the ranchers at the wildlife refuge and a government which gave us Ruby Ridge and Waco. We hope to help prevent violence.
          And for the record, the criminals at Burns Oregon are on Federal payrolls, starting with anyone working for BLM. That is who your criminals are. Thank you for reading at Oath Keepers.

        So, none of what I cited ever happened? We didn’t have two incidents of the use of military rules of engagement and/or military assets (and military advisers) involved which resulted in the deaths of women and children? The FBI didn’t raise the ATF flag over the burnt bodies of children and then posed for a group photo, with big grins, in front of all the burnt carnage? I imagined that? Or is it that all that did happen, but we are somehow delusional and paranoid/stupid for worrying that it may happen again?

        As for the occupiers of the wildlife preserve, we don’t support what they did, and we have made that clear.

        But you need to get a grip and realize that the FBI has yet to even open a line of communication with Ammon Bundy. Why is that? Isn’t that standard protocol? Yes, it is. Why is it not being followed? We await your wise explanation.

        So lets move on to a Jackass’ personality, etc.

        A lot of them are alert, to danger specifically, responsive to what is going on around them. Stewart seems to me to be aware of what is going on, danger and ways to monitor around it.

        They make do on little when necesary by browsing and foraging for food where other animals might not do as well. Mr. Rhodes seems to have a survivalist mentality and training.

        They can break down near-inedible vegetation and extract moisture from food very efficiently which is another asset. They also require minimal shelter and can withstand extreme temepratures in relative comfort. Though they do it in different ways, both Stewart and the jackass seem comparable here also, but not derogatorily.

        Donkeys are also known to take the time to think about things (which is one reason they got the “stubborn” reputation), they do not bend to pressure, nor do they take to threats. They do not bend to pressure, instead they push back. I can say that Stewart does do this, and add to it that he also takes the advice of those he has learned to trust which is always admirable instead of jumping to do every suggestion every Tom, Dick, and Harry brings up (no offense to those of these names meant!)

        Also it is good to remember that it was an ass that carried Jesus. It is also informative that donkeys are beheld in a better light in freedom loving, christian societies, while the slave societies beheld them in a much lower manner along with the slaves they owned.

        Understand this summary is from a neophyte concerning donkeys. I am sure from your derogatory term that you meant to put down Stewart, instead you summarized much of what is valued in him and his actions.

I suppose if the feds came to your door and told you to move there taking your property you would just leave?     Stewart Rhodes, you forgot to add to your letter, which I am giving thanks to the Lord for, that we, mothers and grandmothers, will stand and act as a shield between the gov hounds and our American brothers and sisters. This will cause a civil war and the gov hounds need to understand something, they won’t just be killing strong and skilled men, they will be killing women , young and old, their mothers, their grandmothers, their sisters. I’m watching to see what the gov hounds are doing, I will be there within hours if I see they are going for another waco. If I am watching and ready to go if necessary so are many other American women.

    I like the part where the Potomac runs red. I’m pretty sure that a top-down approach would significantly improve America’s standing in the global community. The simple removal of the idiots savants would lead to our first balanced budget in close to 90 years… doable military deployments that are run by the military and not a Congress busy banging interns or a President doing ESPN interviews between rounds of golf. People inside the Beltway are so busy worrying about image that they have no clue that we only have 0.5% of our own farmers still farming or that America, on our own, can only feed about 30 million people, or less than 10% of our population. This country relies of an unsecure power grid that is liable to be taken out any time now by ISIL and being fed, primarily, by Mexico and China.

    When the power grid does go down, you can rest assured that the remaining farmers are not feeding anyone in Washington. They will not be feeding anyone except themselves and those who can barter goods and services for food. AND, when the federal government attempt to confiscate their crops, you can be sure those thieves in federal clothing will be the new scarecrows in the fields.

    We cannot continue to allow short-sighted ignorance and stupidity by the selfish, self-indulgent, narcissists within the Beltway continue to ruin this nation.

    In terms of our history, we have oft heard the words that the Tree of Liberty must at times be replenished by the blood of patriots. What our wise forefathers understood was global history… which has been replaced today by Revisionist History. Every country cycles through civil wars in order to self-correct. America, the youngest of any country, has long had the audacity to interfere with ancient countries in the name of Freedom… which is ironic considering the paramilitary threats we face at home now. Our interference has led to ISIL. It has also kept the focus everywhere but on our own business, and our businesses have literally disappeared overseas or been bought out by China and other overseas companies.

    Go ahead Beltway and step on the people that provide your food and clothing, and see what happens when illegal aliens happen to include terrorists with a penchant for power… grids that is… because you and your families will be like lambs led to the slaughter.

    I believe in the Constitution and the rights of people to farm and ranch because they are so few now left to feed us. These folks are in an empty area… not in the streets, sidewalks, or littering the parks. They’re not looting and burning their neighbors’ businesses because of something that happened to someone else that they didn’t even know. AND YET, The Hammer is an option?!?!??

    The number of veterans was recently stated as being around 30 million. Interesting… how we the veterans outnumber all politicians, law enforcement and active duty military and how our numbers are equal to what this country can actually feed. While the rest of America might be considered Sheep… WE ARE THE SHEEPDOGS. We are every bit as well-trained, and often far better, than the vast majority of today’s active duty college-money-and-done soldiers. We care. We’re competent. We’re Constitutionalists.

    I know I am not going to win any friends on here with this, but I am going to post it anyway:

    I joined the Oathkeepers with great respect for the idea of honoring the oath to the Constitution and NOT following illegal, unconstitutional orders. I STILL believe that very strongly. At every opportunity, when I have had contact with current LEOs or active military, I have promoted Oathkeepers, and the ideals of the association.

    But recent history has caused me to pause and ask if this is an ASSOCIATION of like-minded Constitutionalist patriots, or the Stewart Rhodes Opinion Foundation. Mr. Rhodes, I greatly respect you, but you make me very nervous when you presume to speak for ALL Oathkeepers. I don’t think I need to remind ANYONE here that ANYTHING that ANYONE says or does even REMOTELY connected to Oathkeepers will be fodder for the alarmist left-wing media to paint us as a “far-right militia group” (not that I have any problem with the REAL meaning of the word “militia”. but I digress.) Even RIGHTEOUS actions like those in Ferguson have proven the truth of that. I have watched Oathkeepers go from holding the absolute, unquestionable moral high ground, to being clouded and obscured, NOT by our own words or actions or those of Mr. Rhodes, but by the opportunities that such things have given the political opposition.

    Mr. Rhodes, in any group such as this, an unfortunate truth is that public relations CANNOT be ignored, and knowing that one is right is not always enough. We must also be on guard for the kind of political and psychological warfare that we KNOW the leftists in the media and the statists in the government WILL conduct against us – it has already happened. Friends who used to have nothing but respect for my membership here now ask me NOT to wear an Oathkeepers T-shirt out to dinner with them. That is a public relations FAILURE, and, while it may be totally UNFAIR and fueled by a ridiculously slanderous and underhanded media and government, we have to realize that the public relations issue is a WAR unto itself, and victory and loss are exactly that – victory and loss – NO ONE will ever care who was right or wrong, only who won or lost.

    Mr. Rhodes, PLEASE think of the Oathkeepers as an ASSOCIATION of like-minded Patriots, and not your personal soapbox – meaning that you are, as we all are, perfectly free to speak for YOURSELF, but you need to ALWAYS be mindful of how, as the founder of this association, your words will be extrapolated to the rest of us and how ANYTHING you say or do will be turned into tar and feathers for the entire organization if it possibly can be. It is NEVER a smart idea to give ammunition to your enemies.

      Amazing. You clearly did not read what I wrote, or you are just blinded by ideology. I am trying to prevent them from doing something wrong, that will lead to reprisals and more violence.       There is never a chance that someone in government can become that domestic enemy of the Constitution? I recall leftists preaching that during the Bush Admin. And you know what, they were right. He and his admin did violate the Constitution, did violate their oaths, and when they declared that the President alone can label any American an “enemy combatant” they crossed the line and became domestic enemies of the Constitution. When the Bush Admin detained two US citizens, Jose Padilla and Yasir Hamdi, in military detention at a Naval brig for three years, without grand jury indictment, without jury trial, under the laws of war, they crossed the Rubicon. That was wrong and it was treason.

      And Obama has done even worse, since he has targeted American citizens for assassination, using the same “enemy combatant” status as his excuse. A president can be a domestic enemy, And so can anyone in the military who follows his unlawful orders.

        I don’t think they are listening attentively, Stewart ! Look at it this way ! At every opportunity Obama has stood with Islam and its adherents. He has shredded the Constitution, and made the border a phantasm. Every threatening influence under the sun has unlmited opportunity to violate the borders lawful purpose, and the guardians of that purpose have been severely restricted from exercising their lawful duties.
        Obama is the danger from within, has made us defenseless from the dangers without, and lawlessness has been given free rein to work its evil.
        People are being carved up on our borders, and the demonic forces behind those acts go unrestrained. Even they may cross our borders with impunity.
        The Malhuer Refuge is going to be a distraction that has ominous import.
        Obama may just decide to rough the protesters up if not use excessive force to abate them.
        Hopefully, Dave Ward, the sheriff of Harney County, Oregon, can keep from being steamrollered by an oppressive federal government and continue to maintain local control. It is still his home turf !
        Some number of years ago a fellow in the stands at a baseball game threatened to come down and beat my a** to a pulp. The thing that precipitated his threat was a disagreement I had with other persons who were interefering with the enjoyment of a family event and he felt it necessary to insert himself. That is pretty much my opinion of what the agencies of the federal government may be urged to do, when it is really a matter of local interest only at this stage.
        Oregon is still a sovereign jurisdiction and the federal government should be responsive to the will of the people of Oregon and let a reasonable defense and response be made regarding the use or abuse of their lands.

        But it is the traitors since Bush 1 (and before) that really get me angry. They have been getting a free ride for a long tme now, some for decades, it is hard to not be impatient for them to be cahrged, ARRESTED, and PROSECUTED. Many are pediphiles, also selling classified information, even weapons of mass destruction, murdering/sickening/etc our own military in the name of what? Money? Power?

        I pray that I am there for at least Bush 1 (I actually pray that he lives to pay for his crimes, wrong of me I know), the Clinton’s (who started the bringing home of drugs in our dead soldiers bodies – our family members), Bush 2, and this Obama who is impersonating a US President and USING our US (okay, UN at this time) military. Plus every administration and employee who did nothing while this went on in each of these administrations.

        May they all be found guilty and HANG!

        If there were never intended to be action to defend the Constitution from those who are domestically attempting to destroy its power and authority, why would each Oath require it of those who take the Oaths?

        I did read what you wrote. And frankly it comes across as a threat and not as a warning. You ask if it’s ok for them to use military force on a bunch of guys occupying an empty building. You seem to forget instances like MOVE in Philadelphia in 1986… As you pointed out, it’s a building in the middle of nowhere..So the government could very well, do the same thing they did with MOVE and not have to worry about displacing 200 families. There are quite a few advantages to the location and the situation. All in the favor of them military. The least of which is the fact it’s in Federally owned land..Just like you have a right to defend your property.. The government has a right to defend there.

        Sure, it could go the way of WACO or Ruby Ridge.. but somehow I don’t think it will. Will it be due to your “warnings”..? No. It’ll be because they’re seen as a joke. They obviously weren’t prepared to stay as long as they’ve said they will when they don’t even bring enough supplies. So now they’re getting sent sex toys and lube for their extended stay.         Jose Padilla — Was arrested in May 2002 and, allowed by Judge’s orders to have access to a lawyer in Dec 2002….
        Yasir Hamdi – Was captured with enemy forces in the Middle East. It was later ruled in Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, 316 F.3d 450 (4th Cir. 2003), that a U.S. citizen captured with enemy forces during a combat operation in a foreign country could be held as an enemy combatant.

    This well may be the tipping point that will make any thought of elections in November moot. Obama has in every instance done what he may do to weaken resolve, destroy cohesiveness, elevate tensions, and precipitate a race war. This is perhaps too much of an opportunity for him to not advantage himself of it. With his executive orders at his disposal without encumbrance, with an almost slavish disinterest by the Congress, and the now present effort to confiscate guns under an act similar to that of Australia, martial law may not be ruled out. Only one round needs to be fired.
    Our character as a nation has approached being moribund. On a personal level, I can only hope the local authorities retain control of this situation and do not let anyone other than themselves administer this. The federal administration has got to be kept far and away from any interference and let this be treated as a family squabble at the most and at the least an inconvenience.
    I am not assured that is possible.

      Having said that, I anticipate that there shall be blood running in the streets and the ravages of war that are so prevalent elsewhere are to be seen here.       Detrick Dengler survived the most horrible of torments in Laos during the Viet Nam war. He was only one of seven captives to make it home from his ordeal. Americans have no idea on the whole how blessed we are ! Americans have little understanding of the depths of evil that exist in the human heart !
      That is all to change.
      My concern is that Obama, being the despotic tyrant that he is, shall use the Mulheur Refuge incident as a precipitous event and many shall be none the wiser for it.
      The sword of the Lord is in the land.
      I am amazed by the calls for retribution against Bundy and the other folks at Mulheur. I am amazed that such vile comments may be directed toward any of our citizens, when a reasoned approached should remain our marked character.
      I shall quote a General from 1813:
      Speaking of Americans…”we do not unsheath the sword for conquest nor for spoil, but to vindicate our rights; and that we are ready to seize any honorable mean to prevent the further effusions of blood.”
      I believe this same counsel resides in Bundy yet he is ready for war.
      These incidental range wars are only a distraction. A larger enemy is in the land and this Oregon engagement may quite possibly energize us to address the greater evil.
      That will not come without repentance on the part of our people.

          Just walked out from 13 Hours. I am always amazed about how shallow many folks are in their thinking !
          Our country is facing huge challenges and the Malheur Refuge is not the most significant of them.
          My big objection to “13” comes at the very end of the film, “We are so sorry Americans, this is not representative of Islam or our people.”
          You will be a long time convincing me of that. Everywhere this evil disease called Islam has manifested, it has brought abuse, privation, violence, destruction, ruin, and death.
          Every report heard about the refuge speaks of the improvements the people brought to the land, not the government. Also, because of those improvements, wildlife began to flourish, not because of governmental controls, but again, improvements by the people.
          In every instance where wildlife is left to natural tendencies it begins to thrive. You will always see numbers increase, even among competing forms. Ecosystems tend toward a natural balance and improvement in numbers among living organisms when not abused.
          Cattle are not an abuse. They are living creatures too ! At one time in our history, we had millions upon millions of Buffalo which speaks to abundance the land may produce when untroubled.
          My concern again is that this corrupt administration shall use this to precipitate an event that will unleash the dogs leading to martial law. It is after all an election year and I don’t trust Obama and his cronies any farther than I might be able to throw them.
          But, that is a topic of another discussion.
          Our open borders, Islam, and a maverick government should be more our concern than imprisoning men under sentences which amount to a life term under the most questionable of causes.
          I am not a Mormon, and in that regard, am at odds with Ammon Bundy however, right is right and wrong is wrong. I do not believe any freedoms have been deprived of persons who would come or go to the refuge as long as they do so peaceably.
          The only thing that may intrude would be that LEA’s and federals may detain persons and prevent freedom of movement on government lands belonging to the people. That would be in anticipation of violence of which Bundy has stated on more than one occasion he desires to avoid.
          If you look at any of the comments by posters on the various sites, they want no petitioning of grievances ! Too often you see demands for forcible removal by any means necessary ! For what good reason?
          Bundy and his supporters to my knowledge have not indicated any such threatening thing. They certainly did not require schools to be closed as they themselves prove no threat. This is a peaceable assembly, regardless the presence of arms.
          I liken this event to the drunken abuse of a father against his wife and children who are most defenseless against him. We both know women stay with their abusers because they have no other place to go and so it often is with a maverick government when the less than manly resolve of its citizens is revealed.
          As Thomas Jefferson so eloquently stated:
          “all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”
          That is precisely what we are observing here. There is no taking of the government by force, rather an appeal for petition to the government which otherwise has become insufferable. We now see being harmed, the very persons the government is charged to secure the freedoms of.

    I think there is something subtle and very dangerous that has been missed in the protests. At least I have not seen it in any of the coverage or statements by either Ammon Bundy or by the news reporting.
    That is that the Hammonds were prosecuted under charges of TERRORISM because a fire control action to protect their land happened to cross a boundary and burn a few acres of grass and sagebrush on land they did not own. The very dangerous precedent that has now been set is that any American exercising 1st Amendment Right or any property owner who may conflict with the US Government can be charged with TERRORISM allowing the US Government to take strong, strong action against us.

      Yes, the Terrorism charges have been the subject of conversation, at least on other reporting sites.
      My concern is more than a number of comments on those sites want to see an over zealous and dangerous response by the government where it is neither required, desirable, and from my vantage point most likely illegal.
      That concern lies in the larger question, why is the Governor of Oregon soliciting the federal authorities to step in and halt the occupation as it is often referred to?
      I have noticed deliberately provocative language by the press and other forms of media which serve to elevate tensions rather than subdue them.
      As it stands, I do not see any violation by the protestors being on the property. There has been no serving of papers to my knowledge requiring cease and desist, no formal charges exist ! A general expression of dissatisfaction and cautious regard by authorities is obvious and nothing more than inflammatory comments by unidentifiable commenters.
      Just as the means of public commentary exists, so to the authorities have at their disposal the same format. They may broadcast far and wide formal charges responding to the alleged criminal acts of Bundy and his supporters and have yet to do so.
      The fact that open carry is taking place and long guns are in evidence means little when no violation of law exists. That alone should be sufficient to inform anyone the Bundy group is acting in a legal capacity.
      Let’s go back long before the presence of Bundy and his group on the refuge.
      Any other citizen of the United States not a resident of Oregon prior to this incident, could have traversed this property with arms without being in violation as long as they conformed to Oregon requirements of open display and no concealment provisions of Oregon law were transgressed.
      Oregon’s roads are public roads leading into and out of this reservation under the supervision of the State of Oregon, and travel upon them may not be impeded for arbitrary purposes. Even those under federal jurisdiction may not be regulated in a manner to deprive lawful citizens of their natural rights of movement, ingress and egress.
      Confined within the greater boundaries of the states that contain them, travel within and upon federal lands may only be limited as provided for by law inhibiting or preventing ordinary citizens their use i.e. military installations and obvious installations relating to national security interests.
      Other than Malheur being a fee regulated facility, nothing appears to exist depriving Bundy of his right to be there with his supporters. If it is not, then that may not be a consideration here and the state may not levy fines against them because states resources have been gathered in attempts to control or observe them.
      Oregon and any other state cannot just say to citizens “you may not be here because you have a gun !”
      This is not private ownership of land ! Were this a persons private residence or a business where private control existed, owners may discourage you from bringing a firearm upon the premises. Even then, you may not be deprived lawfully of your firearm. You may only be asked to leave or be subject to trespass.
      That is the wonderful thing about our Constitutional provisions that exist in the form of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments.
      Many communities and jurisdictions have menacing provisions in their local laws backed by states codes, but even those require something more than just uneasiness or anticipation that a person is going to do something bad.
      We have thousands upon thousands of 2000 and 3000 pound cars on our streets at any moment. Should the operator of such a vehicle desire to mow down, kill and maim any number of persons without any thought of intervention, they may do so. We have had that happen both intentionally and unintentionally. The authorities most often never make their appearance until after the damage has been done, yet no one is calling for drivers licenses to be revoked and cars taken off the street. There are far more mentally unstable and incapacitated persons on our highways and byways in vehicles, than may be discovered at any time among those in licensed possession of a firearm.
      The Bundy group though stimulating apprehensions are no more dangerous than operators of automobiles and indeed, must be considered far less dangerous than many persons you may pass by in the doorway of your local 7-11 store or at the mall.
      Terrorism charges are not only a tool to be used for our protection, as they have within them opportunity to be used against us as is called for against the Hammonds. Greater control of the larger society is always more easily accomplished through threats and intimidation by laws many people do not understand nor even know exist.
      Are our heros in uniform, LEA’s and others to continue to be our heros, or are they to become our oppressors?
      We see how effective provisions meant to protect us are when we have incidents such as San Bernardino, California and the Garland, Texas events of earlier last year among others.
      Those were unrestrained, very real threats, and not petitions to the government.
      Our most significant threat is Agenda 21 which can be used to harm us all and may even be at play in some form in the Harney County, Oregon drama.
      The reason the Oregon governor has not marshaled her forces is because she appears not to have legal right to do so. She is casting about fruitlessly in hopes the feds may do something. They are pretty much in the same predicament as she and their response shall be just as illegal as long as Bundy and his supporters do not impede traffic or the normal operation of the reserves facilities or any other provisions for the operation of the facility.
      You can bet the DOJ is pouring over the law books on this one!
      My only warning to Ammon Bundy and his supporters, is to do nothing to impede normal operations.
      They have a lawful right to be there as petitioners. They may not be considered as loiterers which my guess is what they may be approached as.

    There’s been a lot of speculation about why the FedGov hasn’t moved in: Accusations of racism and favoritism from the Left, and similar ridiculous conspiracy theories from the Right. As in most matters, the usual reason is neither of these. The real reason is simple.

    Obama is letting Bundy and his followers hang themselves. And you.

    As days and weeks pass, “Y’all Quaeda” has become a laughingstock. They’ve sent out requests for supplies and “snacks” (because they failed to adequately plan their “occupation”). Social media has responded by sending them sex toys. The longer this goes on, the stupider they look.

    The stupider they make YOU look.

    Many III%er groups and other Patriots have publicly come out against “Vanilla ISIS” because they grasp how bad, how dangerous, yet simultaneously inept and stupid it makes them look. Bundy is damaging the cause, and tarring every other Patriot with his brush. The Feds don’t want another Waco–even they aren’t that stupid. The end will come in one of two ways: Either Bundy or one of the others starts shooting (possibly an ND), which will justify a swift response; or each of them will be unceremoniously arrested once they run out of Little Debbies and Wet-Wipes and slink away to go home.

    The only way for Patriots to save any face in this is to preempt the government–gather a group of our own to go in not to support them, but to escort them out. End it. Because the longer this goes on, the greater the chance of catastrophe, and the greater the likelihood of Obama looking like a hero and Patriots becoming the villains, in the eyes of an increasing number of Americans.

    You have taken an organization that stood for the good of the people and turned it into nothing more then a glorified criminal defense group. Im sorry but the whole Bundy family are nothing more then common criminals. Using land and not paying the agreed fee’s is “Theft of services”, “poaching animals on land that isnt theres is a criminal act, setting fire to land that isnt v theirs also crim I nal act, Destroying and/or co ering up evidense of a crime is a criminal act, taken up arms against a goverement agency because you got caught also a criminal act. Nothing snything that any member of this family has fone was within the boundries of the law. And here you are not only defending them, but now your threatening Law Enforcements officers and others. All your doing is adding fuel to the fire. You have no ground to stand on, you have no back up or support except from other like minded individuals with a criminal mentality. The community doesnt even support you…..smdh Its a shame that now this organizations is now corrupted and no longer an asset to the people.

      Oh where to start; oh where to start! Sheesh, Mon! How you can conjure up the delusion that the Bundy family is a crime family is beyond me. Your shallow and weak voice merely echoes the hyper fear of unenlightened lost souls who have come here before you, years before you, with the same sort of BS Blurts and baseless angst over misinterpretation of unsent signals. There is of course little hope that you may incline yourself to absorb a dose of reality, but despite my guess that you’re beyond help I shall drop a few pearls before you.
      First, the Bundy family had a long-standing tradition of paying grazing fees to the local/State government long before the BLM came with its demands that the Bundys pay grazing fees to the Federal government. Bundy stopped paying when the BLM changed the rules in a way which the Constitution does not allow. It is the BLM who is doing the criminal activity and violating the rights of ranchers and farmers and others with its presumed top-down harassment. You could only understand this if you chanced to look into the vague world of Enabling Acts and rules of Equal Footing, wherein States are brought into the Union. You don’t know about that, so you’re a prime target for government propaganda.
      Secondly, who are you charging with poaching offenses? Would that be the Bundys, or would it be the Hammonds? In either case, has anyone been to court over poaching charges? If so, what did the court rule? Do you have any proof on which to prove that anyone did any poaching, or are you simply repeating what the news media is telling the public?
      Thirdly, no one is taking up arms at Burns, Oregon. No one has pointed a gun at anyone, no one has fired a shot, no one has threatened to shoot anyone. Yes, at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada back in April of 2014 a lot of good Americans did point rifles at the BLM thugs who were FIRST pointing their guns at the ranchers. Self-defense is still permitted in this country. How your contorted mental states can justify holding the fantasy that anyone is taking up arms merely signifies the fact that you do not need any facts with which to form your opinion.
      Fourthly, who are you accusing of covering up evidence of a crime? What crime? Where is your proof that a crime was committed by anyone other than the BLM?
      Fifthly, who in Oath Keepers has threatened law enforcement officers? I’m sure you can name someone, anyone, in Oath Keepers, since you make the accusation that Oath Keepers is threatening law enforcement officers. So tell me who threatened them?
      Sixthly, Oath Keepers has the best backup in town. We call it the Constitution for the united States of America. The Constitution backs us up just fine, thank you.
      Seventhly, I appreciate your sympathy over the demise of Oath Keepers, which you have just claimed to be corrupted and “no longer an asset to the people”. But geewhiz Budrow, at least you once felt that we were an asset to the people; hence your lamentations.         Uphold your Oaths and defend the constitution against criminals like the Bundys. They are the ones breaking the law of the land (the Constitution). If you think something in the way the way the government is run needs to change than pursue one of the legitimate means that the Constitution provides for: run for office, file lawsuits, generate evidence of abuse of office, be men and go the route of taking the consequences of unarmed civil disobedience. But do NOT betray your Oaths by engaging in or supporting criminal acts hiding behind the barrel of your guns. Defend the CONSTITUTION and our country, not the demands of greedy ranchers.

    I’m not sure exactly what to do about these punks, but I do know they are pieces of shit that need their heads popped a couple of times. I don’t like that they got away with their shit in 2014 and don’t like what they’re getting away with so far here. Personally, I would love for the Native Americans that originally owned the land go in there and kick their butts out.
