Colorado Second Amendment Rally Honors Three Percent Founder Mike Vanderboegh

Sangre de Cristo Sentinel publisher George Gramlich announces the July 4 Second Amendment Rally and March, dedicated this year in memory of Mike Vanderboegh.

This year’s march will honor a patriot and friend who ended his earthly struggle almost a year ago. Publisher George Gramlich asked me to inform Oath Keepers that Mike Vanderboegh’s legacy will be honored and carried on, at least in this section of Colorado.

I wrote several articles last year that elaborate on past supportive relationships this annual event has had with both Vanderboegh and Oath Keepers:

As we celebrate Independence Day this year with family and friends, it’s appropriate to include some time remembering those who have passed on and who made a difference in the advance of our freedom.

I was honored to have met Mike Vanderboegh in person in 2012 in Orlando at the Gun Rights Policy Conference. He and I had corresponding for several years from time to time prior to that.

He was a leader but very unassuming. I shall miss him.

Wish you would have sent this about three days ago, so we could have made plans to be there

My family and I have been marching in this parade for three years now. It has been a blessing to be with so many other patriots as we exercise and promote our 2nd admendment rights. We’ll be there tomorrow. Hope to see y’all!

I wish we had Colorado laws in San Diego, CA. The supreme court decided not to hear the Peruta case because it would have meant that they would have had to agree that preventing the carrying of arms either concealed or open is unconstitutional.
I’m sick of the BS from the Supreme court on the 2nd amendment – even from Scalia. The 2nd amendment is so simple and clear there is no need for a 10 page answer in the DC case. The corrupt establishment is making sure the controversy continues. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed! There are no exceptions or stipulations! Almost all gun laws infringe and the word infringe was chosen because even the tiniest infringement is unconstitutional. If you don’t like the 2nd amendment then change it, but stop allowing it to be infringed! Trump – make it clear to all the federal judges that if they don’t follow the laws and constitution that they will be fired! The insanity here in CA is outrageous! CA has a thousand infringing laws. Let’s push our government and the NRA and the CRPA and GOA and GOC to fight this nonsense once and for all. The SCOTUS needs to state that all gun laws infringe and that stealing the rights of the people will no longer be tolerated.

As a proud, patriotic, veteran, American citizen, I face this “Independence Day” with mixed emotion. While I am proud to celebrate the “spirit of freedom and independence of 1776”, I am equally sad to observe our current “lack of freedom and independence”. We have so many federal/state/county/local laws restricting so many of our freedoms it is pathetic to be celebrating our freedom in this manner. These restrictive laws apply to both our RKBA under the 2nd Amendment and all facets of our daily lives. When we allow government thugs from any level of government dictate our lives so much, and we meekly acquiesce to such dictatorial edicts, we must accept we are no longer either free or independent. We substituted D.C. and state government dictatorship over our lives in place of the King George dictatorship faced by our founding fathers. Just look at the loss of freedoms faced by residents of the 13 original colony/states. They are an embarrassment and the antithesis of freedom today. But, then also, are most of our other states, including Colorado. The current young generations of our country are very opposed to our Constitutional rights. They have been successfully dumbed down and made dependent on government largesse so much that they accept any and all loss of freedom and independence. While we sit on our haunches and bitterly complain about our sad state of affairs, we are losing the battle before it is even fought. The Constitution will be totally lost, and be nothing but an ancient document, within the next 2-3 generations. They will be raised to believe the Constitution no longer exists and the Bill of Rights will be trampled on, ignored, or laughed at. We have lost our fight…..we just won’t admit it.

Why Westcliffe? Why not downtown Denver? You might as well be marching around in your living room with your curtains closed as opposed to going to Westcliffe.
