California ‘Catch-22’ on ‘Assault Weapons’ Evokes Fundamental Question for Gun Owners

This was put together by some friends of mine back in the Nineties to illustrate the absurdity of what the antis were calling “assault weapons” and trying to ban.

Earlier separate bans on semiautomatic firearms demonized as “assault weapons” weren’t enough for California gun-grabbers. Despite the Roberti-Roos ban on specific firearm models, and the later Perata ban, a new prohibition went into effect early this year, even though the agency tasked with infringement enforcement admits compliance is impossible.

“Assembly Bill 1135 and Senate Bill 880 became effective Jan. 1 of this year and part of the new law requires those who have assault weapons to register them by Jan. 1 2018,” CBS 13 Sacramento reports. “But the website to do so isn’t working.”

We’ll let you know when it’s time to come back and surrender.

That’s a screenshot from the “Department of Justice” website that not only advises the definition of “assault weapon” has been “revised” (yet again – they’ll get it “right” one of these times), but that:

These bills will require that any person who, from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2016, inclusive, lawfully possessed an assault weapon that does not have a fixed magazine, as defined in Penal Code section 30515, including those weapons with an ammunition feeding device that can be readily removed from the firearm with the use of a tool, shall register the firearm before January 1, 2018, but not before the effective date of the regulations adopted by the DOJ.

These bills will also require registrations to be submitted electronically via the Internet utilizing a public-facing application made available by the DOJ.

“Many gun owners are frustrated and say it’s been months that they’ve been trying to register and can’t,” CBS 13 elaborates. They’re concerned that if it’s not resolved soon, there will be a mad dash to meet the deadline, only eight months away.”

If they don’t, and if they don’t then surrender their guns, they’ll become felons, prohibited persons for life, forbidden to so much as touch a gun. That’s after they have their lives destroyed and “serve” prison sentences where they’re at the mercy of a general prison population that includes every kind of violent, threatening and physically imposing sociopath you can imagine.

Most will comply.

After all, most take their lead from the National Rifle Association, which set the tone it expected of its members:

“Bill did what any honest, law-abiding American would do…he turned in his SKS Sporter [a militia rifle] to the police.”

Is that what Captain John Parker would do?

In places like California, the “progressives” have unchallengeable political control. Give them their way with “pathway to citizenship” illegals and “refugees,” and they will culturally terraform the remainder of the Republic to be just like them. The bottom line is, once the “popular vote” has been lost, those clinging to principles will have one of two choices: Abject surrender or defiance.

That’s the new paradigm of “I will not comply,” (not really all that new, but still one disparaged by the rice bowl gun groups, where the major revenue streams come through a lobbying solicitations über alles business model). It’s for when all other peaceable means of redress have been exhausted.

Think of it as an order we will not obey. And remember “the supreme Law of the Land.”

Easy for me to say, from the comfort and safety of my keyboard?

Not always.  I tore up their damn registration form in front of them. At an NRA-arranged meeting of all places. Where a handful of us were accused of making the rest of the group look bad…

You’d have to be willfully blind at this point not to realize the gun-grabbers want our guns – all of them. You’d have to be a coward or a fool not to admit the purpose of gun registration is so those who want them know who has them so that they can get them.

Ultimately, there’s one question I keep coming back to:

What would Captain Parker do?

Left the NRA a while ago, joined the GOA, and may be letting THAT membership lapse or cancel it depending on what (if any) response I get back about their (lack of) operations in my so-called ‘Volunteer State’ of Tennessee. Too many politics in a very simply worded Bill of RIGHTS granted by GOD, not by my local Congress critter.

    – Yes, and a more sinister future (as a result of that confiscation) lies beyond that act of disarmament; a native population at the mercy of an army of imported savages. I refer to the current policy of importing young men with a black hatred for us from countries with a culture radically and diametrically opposed to our way of life. This pressure to disarm us while at the same time importing an hostile invasion force implies a desire on the part of our pols to bring the same rape/murder catastrophe that Europe is experiencing home to our people here. Some will claim this is exaggeration on my part, but I see it coming and I am no prophet and I wonder why others cannot see this as well. This is more than simple disregard for our American populace; it is sinister and intentional. It is also irrational unless the underlying intent is to destroy Western Civilization.

AGREED… the corrupt powers that be are as bad as the Islamic people and they perhaps think they will be spared… they forget regardless of their twists and turns against our laws… the US Constitution, Bill of Rights and Criminal Laws… that there most certainly is God and no bad deed will go unpunished… pray for our nation and prepare to meet our Creator.

Congratulations, George, you have the big picture. Opposing Obama’s civilian army will be our main task, until Trump has enough time to deport the SOBs. It would be a hoot if anyone harmed by the Muslim hordes would sign up to sue Obama for his treasonous actions. He is a moving force, along with Soros and much of his cabinet, to discredit Trump and Republicans in general in order to regain control of the White House and Congress. If any of that happens, this country is toast.

George…well said and one area that has been briefly discussed and soon forgotten is one of Soetoro Sobarkah’s October 2015 Executive Order deals that placed UN boots on our American soil in 7 cities across the country that has grown into many more cities. It is the SCN (Strong Cities Network) It was his One World Police Force which would actually be in place to implement his orders should Martial Law be ordered. His plans were to get a racial war generated to declare ML and consequently have UN troops already on the ground in cities all across the country. Sound far fetched ? Do your research on the SCN and the facts will present themselves. This was also the reason for operation Jade Helm 15. Pre-planning for Martial Law implementation. I have written to all of my Congressmen and Senators asking questions about how the SCN can exist and they all answered that they were looking into it. The UN Communist Globalization is in full swing and countless Sobarkah Executive Orders are still in place and operational. The 8 years of Islamo-Marxist carnage will take years to identify and correct….if correctable. A great deal of the American public allowed this carnage to occur due to laziness, complacency and apathy. Socialist Academia, Hollywood and the biased Media took care of the rest. I can see no way that a revolution can be avoided. The magnitude of our division is not measurable. We’ve been had ! A call to action is next !

Vinny, Great comment! With regard to how Americans view the UN, the globalists agenda, the NWO and all the things you mentioned, we the people can at minimum stand up and be heard that we will not allow and we will not consent and we will not comply to their anti-American tactics. We must speak up at every opportunity. We can spread the word of what is truly America and who we really are…a free and sovereign people and nation. No ifs ands or buts! Here’s a few places we can speak up: https://www.facebook.com/Office-of-the-United-Nations-High-Commissioner-for-Human-Rights-198103013660159/ and http://www.ohchr.org/EN/pages/home.aspx. Thank you Linda….if only everyone could be made aware of how serious this UN Globalist Communist issue is and that there are already UN boots on our American soil…..this is not on the “if come”, it is here now……8 years of that Islamo-Marxist and the final results are yet to be realized.

There is no Republic of California, Caliphornia is gone. A Marxist stronghold has been established on sovereign continental U.S. territory with tentacles into Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New Mexico and Austin, Texas. The battle for this nation will begin on the western shore of the United States. Registration? Not on my watch.

“Most will comply”. Therein the crux of the problem. Therein the California mentality. A collapse of the “California Republic” might awaken some. California represents all that is wrong in America.

Here’s a suggestion, one which I’ve been trying to build some traction in my state for a few years. Instead of running out to protect free speech, and calling for volunteers, lets protect “popular sovereignty” and the duty “to execute the Laws of the Union”.
The right, lets start calling it what the Founders actually intended, the duty “to keep and bear arms” is what will ultimately change the tide. If its not already too late.
It is the right and the duty of the constitutional militia to protect all rights, and enforce the law.
There are close to 5 million members of the NRA, and GOA that have been lied to for years. Since you, Stewart, already have a known platform, may I suggest that you approach others with the urgency of the matter. We have to revitalize “the Militia of the several States” before we are inflicted with more political ploys of safety, and our children are re-educated by common core to think that the state is god.
I’m not quite sure why anyone believes that the side-stepping and blind-eye strategy is a path toward anything other than the total loss of freedom. Perhaps its the same mentality that politicians have? We’ll just kick the can down the road and let it pass to the next generation.

      Nick,
In case you were not aware, Stewart has been very vocal, for a long time now, about revitalizing the Militias of all the States. In fact, it is almost always one of his main topics.
There are several of us working within our own states on the same matter.
However, we cannot let freedom of speech, or any of our other natural rights, fall in the meantime. All ten of the rights listed in the “Bill of Rights” are vitally important, therefore to protect one, and forsake any of the rest, would be at our own peril.
Like you said; “It is the right and the duty of the constitutional militia to protect all rights, and enforce the law.” Are we not ALL the militia? For sure and certain sir, we are indeed.
I gave up on the NRA years ago, and haven’t joined GOA for fear of them doing like the NRA has.
Rest assured brother, that many of us, (Stewart as much, or more so, as anyone), are well aware of why the 2nd Amendment is the ONLY one that contains the word “Necessary”, but we cannot forsake any.
I don’t know of any among us who swore an oath to protect just one issue. As for my oath? It covers them all, and it doesn’t expire until I do. Until then, I may be old and busted up, but I still do what I can, and I trust/believe that I am in good company on that issue.

      David

The masses are deceived by collectivist indoctrination to the point where they have been almost entirely blinded to the true principles of natural rights. Only through persistent intellectual refutation of collectivist philosophy will more among the masses be awakened to these truths. Pointing out the absurdity of the “assault weapon” false dogma through such publications as this “Homemade Assault Weapon” can certainly serve as an eye-opener to those who are honest enough to set aside regurgitated buzz words from the MSM fake news sources.

Since compliance isn’t a rational response, Californians are left with the choice of ignoring the law (risking imprisonment if caught), or leaving the state.

I was born in California, and it was a nice place to live in the past, but by the mid-eighties it was over-taxed, over-regulated and over-populated to the point that I left (and wouldn’t consider going back). It was bad then, and has to be multiple times worse now. Californians need to understand they’ve lost control of the state to the socialists, illegal aliens, welfare bums, and other assorted nuts — and there’s no chance of getting it back any time in the foreseeable future. Rather than live under what is a sort of lawless oppression, and pay taxes to support it, it would make more sense to leave.

Once, when asked what was the mark of a great general, the Duke of Wellington replied: “to know when to retreat, and dare to do it”. In California, that time has come — victory isn’t possible under present conditions, and keeping the field will only mean further unnecessary losses.

I have to ask, because it seems to be a completely lost doctrine. You do know that this is a nation of “popular sovereignty”, wherein the people have the authority “to execute the Laws of the Union”.
As the court opined years back, “When we consider the nature and theory of our institutions of government, the principles upon which they are supposed to rest, and review the history of their development, we are constrained to conclude that they do not mean to leave room for the play and action or purely personal, and arbitrary power”. The court went on to state that “Sovereignty itself is not subject to the law, because it is the author and source of the law, but in our system, while certain sovereign powers are delegated to government, sovereignty itself, remains with the people, by whom, and for whom all governments exist”. Excuse me if I’m off on the exact statement.
However, in an organization of vets and “law enforcement”, we should know the law of the land, which places the power in the hands of the People, and not bureaucrats, judges, or politicians. That is the true reason for the 2nd amendment, the ability of the People to maintain sovereignty.

So, the dummies in Commiefornia are “frustrated that they can’t yet comply” with the unconstitutional requirements to register their “assault weapons”. I just wonder if everyone in the USA will so meekly surrender our God-given, Constitutionally protected rights and freedoms in the future.

Those gun owners in Kommiefornistan who can afford to leave should do so ASAP.
And take your “assault weapons” with you.
I’m thinking mostly retired folks with no ties to the State.
    Sell everything and leave.

Why do we let our legislators keep making laws to Serve them self as they please? They have slowly set themselves up to dictate to the rest of us and we are taking it. It’s time we have a say in what is legislated or dictated to us.

The answer is simple. I will never comply. Anyone who does comply deserves to lose their rights to keep and bear arms for failure to own a backbone.

Forced compliance with ANY gun law is a direct violation of the 2nd Amendment as it was written and intended and is grounds for execution of said tyrannical enforcers.

The people responsible for imposing their tyranny need to be charged, tried, found guilty of treason and subterfuge, and executed in every public town square.

We became free for reasons we have forgotten, but will easily remember once the shooting begins.

    I’ve enough of this shit.

    Will. Not. Comply.

Comply? I think there will be a non-comply stance by the 90%+ of legal gun owners here. There are many staunch supporters of the 2nd Amendment, who I seriously think, will not comply and will resist. Very soon, from the area of California, you may hear another “shot, that will be heard around the world”. The lawless lawmakers in Sacramento have chosen to draw a line in the sand. I don’t think this one is going to go well for politicians and California DOJ, or those who wish to enforce this gun grabbing disarmament of the populace. It will get ugly.

That means when a gun owner is being hauled off to trial there will need to be a citizen militia show up to oppose it. And if you know anything about the commie/socialist gun grabbers it is likely they will order the police to fire in order to gain control of the situation. After all they HAVE to make an example.

So the citizen militia will have to find ways to organize the state cannot monitor.
